but i guess u have to give the Bersic guys some slack since its written in Delphi. compare that to Bersic which when i tried (ver 1.40) i think crashed every now and then and had odd buggs in the interface and other wierd issues. Plus mIRC has excellent built-in regular expressions support, so i dont really miss perl at all, anything that can be done in perl can be done in mIRC scripting and your code will be far more readable then in perl.Īs for the interface, well its minimalistic and right to the point, yet still highly customizable, i dont see any problems with it.Īnother thing is that mIRC is damn near rock stable, i dont ever remember it crashing on me in the years and years i been using it, and its very resource friendly. heck i have seen people who never done any kind of programming before in thier life write capable mirc scripts, that should tell you something. and the mIRC scripting engine is damn fast.

I have to disagree that mIRC scripting is awkward in anyway, writing a script to do the same exact thing is far easier and quicker in mIRC than say in pascal or perl or js/vbs.
